MT3F: they did it in 3 minutes!

One evening to face the challenge of presenting their thesis in three minutes in French!
On Wednesday 14th April, 18 PhD students, from all over Ireland, addressed the challenge of taking part to My Thesis in 3 minutes...in French! in Trinity College Dublin.

The jury, composed of 3 scientists & 3 representatives of the Embassies of La Francophonie, had the difficult task of evaluating their candidates & chosing the most convincing.
Jury was composed of:
 H.E. Stéphane Crouzat, Ambassador, Embassy of France to Ireland,
 Dr Michel Dugon, Lecturer in Zoology & Science Outreach Officer, NUI Galway
 Dr Virginie Gautier, Principal Investigator, Centre for Research in Infectious Diseases, University College Dublin
 Dr Muriel Grenon, Lecturer in Biochemistry, founding director of the Cell EXPLORERS science outreach programme, vice-dean in charge of STEAM promotion, NUI Galway
 H.E. Marie-Claude Meylan, Ambassador, Embassy of Switzerland to Ireland,
 Mr Rachid Seghrouchni, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Morocco in Ireland

Ellen Howley, who won the Elocution & Jury Prizes

 

Three prizes were awarded, thanks to the generous support of our sponsors:
  Ellen Howley, from Dublin City University won the Elocution Prize: two return flights to Paris offered by Transavia), a copy of "Ma Thèse en 3 minutes" by peb&fox and the Jury Prize (a bottle of Champagne offered by the representatives of the Embassies). Ellen Howley’s thesis looks into the links between Irish and Caribbean poetry.

Luiza Wasiewska & Jury Member Rachid Seghrouchni

 

 Luiza Wasiewska, from Tyndall National Institute won the outreach prize: a dada Restaurant voucher & a copy of "Ma Thèse en 3 minutes" by peb&fox. Luiza’s thesis looks into E.coli in the beef chain.

Aparajita Dey-Plissonneau & Jury Member Virginie Gautier

 

 Aparajita Dey-Plissonneau, from Dublin City University, won the Audience prize: an ely wine bar voucher & a copy of "Ma Thèse en 3 minutes" by peb&fox. Aparajita’s work looks into online language learning.
